And we wait...

Welcome to our blog.  As you know, we've decided to work with Holt International to adopt our second child from South Korea!

After Adam came home in 2004, we became acquainted with some awesome families who had adopted through Holt.  They were so welcoming and invited us to participate in playgroups, dinners and other functions.  As we heard the adoption stories of these families, and learned more about the organization, we felt more and more excited and comfortable with the idea of international adoption.   That, paired with Adam's Korean heritage, was what led us to decide on Korea through Holt.  We are so happy with our decision!

As with any process, there are ups and downs.  There is a long wait involved - about a year from the date our homestudy was approved to the date we get our referral (a photo of our child).  But, the best part of it all is that we know its going to happen!  Its going to happen!  (I have to keep repeating this mantra on those "down" days).  Its going to happen!
So, here we are in February and we're looking forward to receiving a referral in a few months. We're hopeful that it will come before July - so keep your fingers crossed with us!  Once the referral comes, we'll have more paperwork to do and then we'll hop on a plane to Korea to meet our child!  Korea!  Tim is getting his passport renewed right now - lets hope they get it done quickly!

Anyway, as the wait continues and referral time draws closer, we are getting more anxious and excited.  We decided to start this blog to keep you posted on all the news (once we get news!).  We'll also try to update this while we are traveling so you can keep tabs on us.  You can feel free to post your comments and questions.   Also, feel free to browse through some of the web links we've posted here to learn more about South Korea and Holt International.

Check back often !
