Our First Meeting

We just returned from meeting our little boy! (by way of Baskin Robbins). Jong-guk is a very charming baby. When he entered the room, he was on the foster mothers back in a sling. She held him in her lap and he stared at us for quite awhile. Tim and I were both able to hold him on our lap for a little while, but he would look back at the foster mom and was a bit uneasy. He seemed a little more comfortable with Tim. Foster mom gave him some rice snacks to help make him more comfortable (he likes to eat...). He is a very busy and active baby! We were able to see some wonderful smiles and a few giggles. The visit lasted about 1/2 hour, until he really started to get restless. He was missing his nap. Overall the visit went very well.

Foster mom (who told us she has cared for over 100 babies over 24 years) was very sweet and loving. She gave us a hanbok (traditional Korean dress) and a photo album. This baby has been showered with love and he will miss her very much. We will probably have a couple long days/nights ahead of us. Foster mom sleeps with Jong-guk on the floor of her bedroom so we are going to try to get a hotel room with different beds (that are like mats on the floor) so it will be more like what he's used to.

We see Jong-guk again on Thursday for his medical check-up. We weren't expecting to be there for that, but we are glad to be able to see him (and for him to see us) one more time before Friday. So here's what you've really been waiting for... PHOTOS! Enjoy!

(p.s He has had 2 haircuts!).
